What Do I Need For A Website?
First, you will require a domain name to be registered. Visit BabyName.it to register and secure your domain name. Once you have your domain name, you will need a website creation software and hosting to actually build the website.
At BabyNameURL.com, we realize there are a hundred different ways to create a website. We’re going to simplify it for you in two different methods using two different pieces of website creation tools called WordPress and Website Tonight.
Option A: Using WordPress
1.) Visit BabyName.it and purchase a Shared Website Hosting account. A Website Hosting account is the actual server that will host your images and text of your website. It is a necessary step in creating a website.
2.) Once purchased, log in via your BabyName.it account and access the Hosting Menu. Follow the prompts and instructions to setup your hosting account and ensure it is assigned to the domain name you registered. There will be a small setup time (approximately 15-30 minutes) for the system to setup.
3.) Install WordPress:
Log in to your Account Manager.
From the Products section, click Web Hosting.
Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
On the Hosting Control Center home page, click Your Applications.
Click the Blogs category on the left, and then click WordPress.
Click Install Now.
NOTE: The Install Now button displays only when the selected value application is compatible with one of more hosting plans in your account.
Read the End User License Agreement, and then click I Agree.
Choose the domain to install WordPress to.
Enter a database description and password, and then click Next.
Choose an installation directory, and then click Next
NOTE: To install WordPress in your root directory, leave this field empty.
Enter the Admin Name, Admin Password, Email and Blog Title for your WordPress installation. Click Finish.
WordPress will be installed to your hosting account with the options you selected. When it is complete, you will receive a confirmation email.
4.) Using the instructions emailed, you will now be able to login via the WP-ADMIN page. Login and you are ready to start blogging or setting up a website. We recommend utilizing pre-made WordPress themes. WordPress themes can be purchased and downloaded at various websites for a nominal fee or for free, such as Woothemes.com or Studiopress.com. Once a theme is installed, users can customize their webpage with their own content, photos, and navigation.
